Prop 47 & Prop 63

Proposition 47

Proposition 47 amended a series of theft-related felony offenses. Where Prop 47 applied, the offense was a felony only if the property stolen was greater than or equal to $950. Where the value of the property was less then $950, the offense was a misdemeanor. For those offenses where Prop 47 does not apply, the prosecution is not required to prove the value of the stolen property to be greater than or equal to $950. (See People v.
